Welcome to Bumps and Beans!
I am Courtney, director and sole seamstress for Bumps and Beans. I am married and have two sons, Lincoln and Zeke, aged three and one.
A little bit of my background:
I suffer from a disease known as Endometriosis which I was diagnosed with in 2009. It is a horrible disease which many woman suffer from world wide. With this disease comes an array of symptoms which effect you emotionally, physically and mentally. To top it all off this disease has a large effect on fertility leaving some women infertile and others having to rely on IVF treatment to conceive.
In living with this disease, it has taught me various lessons about what is important in life and what it is that I want to achieve in my lifetime. Being able to have a family of my own was always an important factor for me.
Where Bumps and Beans began:
In July 2013, I was gifted my first sewing machine. Soon after I brainstormed a wave of ideas that lead to the start of Bumps and Beans.
The idea behind creating Bumps and Beans was that I would be able to decrease my work hours, and concentrate more on my health and wellbeing. This would help with my long term goal of settling down and starting a family.
Bumps and Beans today:
Sitting down at my sewing machine has now become a true passion of mine. It provides a relaxing environment to allow my creativity to run wild and simply enjoy making my creations.
Bumps and Beans will start popping up at markets around New Zealand in 2019. Keep an eye out for me and do make sure you come and say hello!
Thank you so much for supporting my little business
